Israel's Attacks on Gaza - How you can help

14 Friends of Palestine Statement

November 15, 2012

Israel, the fourth largest military power in the world, is unleashing its military might on a captive population. Unable to escape from their open air prison because of the Israeli blockade, 1.6 million people in Gaza are condemned to be sitting targets for Israel's bombs, wherever it chooses to drop them.

The Gaza Strip is one of the most densely populated regions in the world. Over two thirds of the population are refugees who lost their homes to Israel in 1948 and 1967; over half of them are children. Israel is using weapons that are provided by the American taxpayer. The USA gives Israel $8.2 million per day in military aid.

Contrary to what Israel would have the world believe, it was Israel and not Gaza that started this escalation. After two weeks without violence, a 20 year old mentally challenged Palestinian man was killed by Israelis on November 5th when he wandered close to the border. Israeli soldiers invaded Gaza three days later, on Thursday November 8th, and a twelve year old Palestinian boy was killed from their machine gun fire while he was playing football.

We condemn Israel's ruthless attacks on Gaza; and condemn the US government for providing Israel with $3 billion a year in military aid.

Press release from Dr. Ashraf Al-Qedra, Al-Shifa Hospital

Saturday Nov 17th, 2012

"Palestinian hospitals are now suffering from a lack of medicine and medical supplies.
Gazans are asked to donate blood, and to volunteer to help with nursing.
Israel is using chemical and perhaps biological weapons in Gaza; we saw shrapnel with toxic properties in the bodies of injured and dead children and there are strange smells in the air.”

  6. Stay Informed

Live streaming from Harry Fear, British journalist in Gaza:

Remember that Gaza is 10 hours ahead of us. When he is asleep (tries to sleep) he leaves the streaming on audio. You can hear the Israeli attacks taking place. Chilling. You can hear the bombing. This will give me nightmares tonight – and I am thousands of miles away. How do the children cope?
